History and Purpose
The Club was founded in 1989 as the Far Northwest chapter of the Austin Preschool Mothers Club, which was itself established in 1925. Over the years, we grew to the point where we spun off as a separate entity in 2001. Most recently, we wanted to open the doors to all moms, not just those with preschool kids, so we changed our name to North Austin Mothers Club.
The purpose of the club is:
- Provide support and enrichment to members in their role as mothers.
- Expand members’ knowledge of the emotional, physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual development of the preschool child.
- Serve as a focus point for the dissemination of information about children, motherhood and families to our community.
- Give back to others through community outreach to moms and families in need.
